We Need Your Help!
PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE THOROUGHLY BEFORE SIGNING UP!

The Goleta Valley South Little League is run entirely by volunteers who work together to make sure Little League is a great experience for all of the kids. The League appreciates everyone's help and hard work, and the kids appreciate it even more! There are many ways to contribute, all of which are rewarding and fun! Parents are encouraged to contact Board Members with any questions or comments.

Each family in the League is required to work two volunteer shifts per player to redeem the $200 per player volunteer deposit required at registration.

There are many volunteer positions requiring a time commitment above and beyond the volunteer shift required of all parents, including Board Members, Team Managers and Coaches, Team Moms and Dads, Umpires, etc. If you are interested in one of these positions, please check the appropriate box on your registration form.

All adults working directly with the kids, including helping on the field at practices and games, must fill out a Volunteer Application (this is a requirement of Little League International). Applications can be found on the left side of the website Mail applications to GVSLL PO Box 660 Goleta CA 93116.

Each team also needs parents to serve as Announcers and Scorekeepers at the games, help with Field Maintenance before and after games, assist in putting together the team basket for the Silent Auction, etc. Please help out as requested by your Coaches, Team Mom, and Team Dad.

Concessions & Volunteers
GVSLL has a great Concession Stand, with hot food, cold drinks, and lots more, including plenty of healthy choices. No one is paid to work in the stand; we rely on volunteers to provide this service for our players and families.

Concession Stand Information

The stand could not run without volunteer help! That’s why you need to show up, and to be there for the entire shift. It is a major inconvenience when volunteers do not show up.

  • Shifts last approximately 3 hours, or until we close. This includes about 15 minutes of clean-up after the windows close.
  • If you know you cannot make your shift, it is your responsibility to either send someone in your place or trade for another shift. Try trading with someone on your team, or with someone scheduled for the same week as your shift (check the sign-up sheet for a list, or contact the Concessions Supervisor
  • Reliable teenagers who have been approved by the Concessions Manager can work your shift for you. You must discuss this with Esther Hernandez  ahead of time.
  • Concession sign-ups are handled online. The calendar is always available (linked from the GVSLL website) to help you remember your commitment.
  • Please remember that if you do not show up to work, there is no one there to do it. We count on the scheduled people to be there. There is no one there full-time to run it if volunteers do not show. We don’t want your $200 deposit, we want YOU!
  • For safety and health reasons nobody under 16 can be in the stand at any time.
  • If you are truly unable to make your shift due to an emergency, PLEASE let us know ASAP:

Sign-ups for Concession Stand volunteers will once again be taken care of online to provide flexibility and convenience!

Keeping the stand going is a group effort and we welcome your help. Please contact the Concessions Supervisor to find out more about this opportunity!

What if I Can't Make My Shift?

This year, all concession shifts are posted online. If you realize after signing up for your shift that you have a conflict, it is critical that you contact a board member as soon as possible so that your shift can be made available as soon as possible. Shifts must be rescheduled at least 1 week in advance.

Emergencies
If something comes up at the last minute (we know it happens..) PLEASE call the Concessions Supervisor as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
